Over the past few months, I've accumulated around 20 books and I thought I'd like to share them with you as a haul. I have bought most of these books with my own money and few might be gifts. Lets begin.
We Were Liars by E.Lockhart.
There is a girl and her family. There is true love, an accident and lies upon lies. And there is mystery.
I dare not say anymore about this book except that I highly recommend it.
All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven.
(I have also already read this book and a review is currently up on my blog at the moment.)
This book is about two broken teenagers - Violet and Finch - who meet on a bell tower ledge and become a part of each others world. But as Violet begins to battle her personal demons with the help of Finch, she starts to lose her grasp on him and Finch falls backwards.
Hopeless by Colleen Hoover
Hopeless is about a girl named Sky who meets a mysterious boy whom she is immediately captivated by. As much as she tries to avoid him, she can't and they begin to form a close bond and relationship only for it to be jeopardised when the secrets he holds are revealed. Sky needs to face these secrets and try her hardest to get past the obstacles the pose.
If you have read this, I'd love to hear what you thought about?
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer and The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkins.
Mara Dyer wakes up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there and what has happened. Only that her friends were killed and she was left unharmed. To get away from the devastation, she moves houses and attends a new school where she meets the gorgeous Noah Shaw. She finds out he may hold the secret to why she wasn't crushed when a building collapsed on all her friends and that she may be the cause of all it.
If I enjoy the books, I'll definitely be picking up the third novel in the trilogy.
The Shadowhunter Codex by Cassandra Clare and Joshua Lewis.
It's pretty self explanatory but it is basically the training manual for Shadowhunter's and it features comments and doodles added Clary, Jace and Simon. This should be pretty cool and it will be the next instalment to the Shadowhunter collection that I have on my bookshelf right now.
Catherine Earnshaw falls in love with a gypsy boy named Heathcliff, whom his father adopted for his estate Wuthering Heights. Then the young wealthy and handsome Edgar Linton moves into the neighbouring estate. Heathcliff runs away furious that the woman he loves is set to marry another. He then returns, rich and educated, and out to seek revenge.
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
The book follows Marianne and Elinor Dashwood, two sister's experience parallel stories of love. Sensible Elinor finds herself falling deeply in love with Edward Ferrars but they are split apart when she moves away to another estate. Fortunately, Marianne then finds love in the name of a man named John Willoughby, but they too are split apart when he moves to London. Both girls long for answers about their loss and wonder if they'll forever be unlucky in love.
My Soul To Take by Rachel Vincent Kaylee Cavanaugh can sense when someone near her is about to die but when she does something forces her to scream. She just wants to enjoy her teenager life and the attention she's been receiving from a handsome guy named Nash. But a normal life is hard to have when Kaylee's classmates begin dropping dead for no reason and Nash seems to know about Kaylee's powers more than she does.
The Goddess Test, Goddess Interrupted and Goddess Inheritance by Aimee Carter
Kate's mum is dying and her last wish is to be taken back to her childhood; so they move. Kate starts a new school and meets new friends who introduce her to Henry in a not so practical way. Henry is mesmerising and he claims to be Hades, ruler of the Underworld. Kate will do anything to save her mother from dying, so when Henry offers her a chance to keep her mother alive by simply accepting a bargain, she takes it.
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard.
Mare Barrow is a Red. Red's are commoners living under the rule of the Silver's, elite warriors with god-like powers. Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a power of her own; powers that threaten the Silver's control. This book has been hyped for quite a while now and I'm interested to see if it lives up to it's expectations. You can expect to see a review for this on my blog soon.
